I was so excited about these new products from Moroso, I though you loyal blog readers might enjoy a preview. I recently ordered up brand new Power Steering Tank (PN 63491), Coolant Expansion Tank (PN 63768), and GT 500 Oversized Supercharger Tank (PN 63493) to not only dress up the engine compartment, but to add some coolant capacity to the air-to-water intercooler system.
The Moroso tank holds nearly a gallon, while the stock tank holds only 1 1/2 quarts. Not only will the increased coolant capacity help shed more heat and level out heat soak, but the big, fuel-cell-style cap will allow shoving in a bunch of ice for drag strip and dyno blasts.
What I really like about the Moroso pieces, besides their direct-replacement format, is that all the fittings are welded in (nice welds too!) so there are no screw-in fittings or ugly Teflon tape exposed in the engine compartment. These units are clean!
Of course the bare aluminum parts are really cool, but I wanted to take them up a notch and our friend Allen Colding was kind enough to paint the tanks Vapor Silver to match Project Vapor Trail! We think they look great, but you'll have to wait for the magazine to see how they look on the car.
