Call it deja-vu, if you will. For the second year in a row, enthusiasts and judges at the Valley Mustang Club (of Simi Valley, California) selected our project car as "best in class" for '79-'88 T-top Mustangs at its annual show, which was held on June 1, 2008, at Rancho Simi Park.
The Simi Valley show is fast becoming one of the SoCal area's most-popular 'Stang events, as evidenced by the strong turnout of '99-and-newer Mustangs (which includes 25 Shelby GTs and GT 500s alone), and shows there is a changing of the guard of sorts for Mustang and Ford car shows, which were once dominated by the classic Ponies, Fairlanes, Galaxies, etc. The jury is still out on whether or not we'll go for a third title next year. For now, we'll just admire the 2007 and 2008 first-place trophies that the coupe has earned for its looks, and turn or focus on trying to earn a trophy for finishing first in the Mustang Maddness class (we've already runnered up) at one of the PSCA's drag-race events this year.
