Hopefully you've been following the saga of our own Fox 500 project, which revolves around swapping a GT500 engine in a Fox Mustang. Apparently we aren't alone in thinking the GT500 engine is a cool swap. We came across a V6 S197 that has been upgraded with a turbocharged GT500 engine. More after the jump...

Buckman over at SVTPerformance calls this creation his LX 500. He had this to say about the car:

"Over the last 10 months or so, I 've been doing a build with PowerHouse on shoehorning a GT500 motor into what was a 4.0 V6.
The 4.0 V6 ran a best of 11.02 @ 126.33, but the search for ET's eventually led to the demise of the block.
At that point we decided to test out the GT500 engine and see what we can do. The engine is very intriguing, heads flow great and the power potential seemed a perfect combo.
A basic list of mods we did was:
GT500 engine
Lentech 4r70 Strip Terminator transmission w/ transbrake
Baumann Trans Controller
PowerHouse custom 70mm turbo setup
Custom sheetmetal intake
GT500 comp/harness
AFCO heat exchanger
Custom reservoir
Precision 3200 torque converter
and a bunch of misc. parts/mods driveshaft, underdrive pullies, etc..."
