Gas prices killing Ford's big motor

After all the hype about Ford's new Hemi-fighter the Boss (formerly Hurricane) engines, it looks like these $4-plus gas prices have caused Ford to rethink things...

Accordng to a report on the Automotive News Web site, Ford is canceling the Boss for the ’10 F-150, and that doesn't bode well for its appearance in the Mustang.

According to AN, "Ford told suppliers last week to stop work on a 6.2-liter V-8 engine that had been scheduled to go into the F-series pickup as early as next year."

1. Good job Ford! This is abosultely hilarious, especially considering that the 6.0L LS-based engine in the GM trucks gets the same mileage as the current 4.6L and 5.4L engines in the F-150, it looks like Ford's engine designers have screwed the pooch again.

2. I thought you guys would have learned from the past. We still want this stuff. Gas is killing me too. I just keep the cobra in the garage and drive my focus. Everytime I drive the snake, it seems new again. When I get me a new edge stang, It too will stay parked most of the time, But I still want one. No matter what, We will never give up our hot rods (we just drive them a little less)
