It's no secret that I'm a big fan of Fox-body ('79-'93) Mustangs. And, even though I've owned more of the four-eyed variety (an '84, and a few '85s and '86s), I've got mad love for the entire platform and I feel the 5.0-powered cars are responsible for making "our world" what it is today...
So, imagine my surprise...and disappointment...when I came across this framed picture of old-and-new 'Stangs, and a bunch of Mustang-themed "Hawaiian shirts," that were being sold by vendors at the Long Beach High Performance swap meet. Take a close look, gang. What's "wrong" with these two items? If your answer is, "there's no Fox-body 'Stangs in either of them," you're absolutely correct.
Stuff like this makes it clear that there are some folks out there who apparently don't consider the Fox to be among the "important" Mustangs of yesteryear. It's very disappointing, and needless to say, I didn't purchase the artwork or a shirt.
The whole discovery left me wondering who produced the stuff, because I really would like to know what they were thinking when they didn't include the Fox-body Ponies. Is this a sign that the end is near?
Long live and long love the Fox!
