The reason we have Speed Lust in the front of the magazine is to let you guys know about new products hitting the Mustang market. Most press releases we receive, the components aren’t even out yet so we let the magazine’s lead time coincide with the product’s street introduction. One such product we thought deserving instant gratification is JPC Racing’s new three-valve intake. Check out more info at the jump.
This new 2005-’08 Mustang three-valve intake will be on display at the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl of Street Legal Drag Racing at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, IL the weekend of July 17th-20th. The cast aluminum intake replaces the factory plastic intake, which have been problematic in boosted applications since they were introduced on the ’96 Mustang GT two-valve engine. The plastic intakes are better these days, but under high-boost they’re still susceptible to cracking.
JPC Racing’s founder Justin Burcham has finally busted the 8-second zone with his own ’05 Mustang GT with a three-valve, and this intake is the result of Justin pushing the boundaries of the three-valve engine. This intake is still undergoing dyno testing, but if you want to get in on the ground floor on extra three-valve horsepower give JPC a call at (410) 768-3025. If you’re going to be at the NMRA/NMCA Super Bowl, you’ll be able to see it in person.
