If you are into collectible Mustangs, it doesn't get much more rare than a one of one. Check out the aviation-themed Ford Racing creation for Oskosh this year after the jump...

Flight-themed car built especially for EAA's Gathering of Eagles

Ford Motor Company has built the ultimate aviation-based automobile especially for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2008 - the Mustang AV8R - and one lucky bidder at the annual Gathering of Eagles fund-raiser will get to drive it home. With the support of Ford Racing, Ford designed and engineered this "one-off" design to commemorate AirVenture 2008. In fact, its name was derived from the event itself AirVenture 2008.

The very special machine has never been seen before …until now. Watch the vehicle come to life and learn about its special features and enhancements in an exclusive video on EAA's AirVenture video player.

Ford Racing made this one of the most high-performing Mustangs ever built. And it's the only one built, since Ford "broke the mold" after donating the modified, 400-horsepower 2009 Mustang GT to EAA to be auctioned at the annual Gathering of Eagles on July 31, 2008. Proceeds will support EAA's youth education and inspirational experiences that prepare young people to become the engineers, pilots, and innovators of tomorrow.
