I can’t wait to get to Lime Rock in Connecticut after the fiasco I had at Barber. I got spun on the first lap, lost ABS and had two flat spotted tires before we finished the first turn of lap two. What a humbling day! I am pretty sure we’ll have a better showing at The Rock. The Ford Racing Mustang Challenge for the Miller Cup series has been evolving over the inaugural year and has attracted a big name talent in road racing with the most recent addition of Terry Borcheller to the Stable One team.
Terry Borcheller has amassed six pro racing titles, two wins in the Rolex 24 hours of Daytona and a podium finish in the 24 hours of Lemans in France. The way I see it is we are lucky to have a shot at competing with such an accomplished racer as Terry. I am sure we can learn a lot and if one of us were to finish ahead of him it would truly be the race a life time, the pressure is all his!
We’ll have our best shot at Lime Rock on August 16th. The track has recently undergone some major changes with new curbing, repaving and a number of new experiences for racers. It’s a short track with only one long straight and times will be under a minute.
After Barber I am still second in points due to Pratt Cole getting together with another racer on the last turn of the last lap. Go figure. I now have Pratt Cole, Tony Buffamonte and Mike McGovern just behind me in points so I have got to perform at The Rock. Pratt and Joe Lee Middlebrooks are not on the entry list as of Thursday. Hmmmmm?
After Lime Rock Round 6 of the Miller Cup will travel to Thunderbolt Raceway at the New Jersey Motorsports Park complex in Millville. Then the series makes its way to The Miller Motorsports Park in Toole, Utah, for Rounds 7 and 8, the finale to the 2008 season. I currently have one win and trail point’s leader Andrew Caddell who has two wins.
Can you hear me coming?
