Those folks who really know me pretty well, know that I have a strong loyalty to 1984 ('cause an '84 GT was my first) to 1993, Fox-body Mustangs. Yes, despite my affinity for all 5.0 and 4.6-powered Ponies, I'm really a do-or-die Fox fan, and I'm always on the hunt for 'Stang-related "stuff" (clothing, books, artwork, diecasts, etc) that focuses on or includes Foxes. Imagine my dismay when I came across the items you see in the photos--a "tribute" to Mustangs shown in this frame, and the "apparel" you'll find after the jump...
Did you look closely? Do you see what hasn't been included in the 'Stang-collection print and on the Mustang shirts (both of which I came across at a recent automotive swap meet here in Southern California)? That's right, guys, NO FOX BODIES!
It's a shame that there are some folks out there who are starting to forget the 5.0-powered notchback and hatchback hot rods that started the late-model Mustang movement. I certainly have a lot of love for Post-Fox 'Stangs, no doubt about that, but coming across stuff like this really disappoints me.
Oh...are you wondering whether I bought either of these items anyway? While the print probably would look cool hanging somewhere in the shop, and the shirt definitely would get those "you really dig Mustangs, don't you, Kaje" comments if I wore it at a barbecue or something, I didn't waste my money on 'em. Nope. No way. It's just a matter of principle.
