On most Sundays (and some Saturday nights) between February and November, NASCAR Sprint Cup stock car driver, Greg "The Biff" Biffle, spends several hours of his time "mixing it up" with 43 or so other drivers, on small ovals and super speedways all over the country.
While stock-car races are conducted primarily on oval-shaped courses that are navigated in a counter-clockwise (left-turn) fashion, we received word that The Biff has been spending some of his off time by making straight-line laps on the dragstrip in Mooresville, North Carolina, as preparation for some grudge racing with other NASCAR drivers.
No, Greg isn't trying to get his Roush-Fenway Racing, Ford Fusion stock car down the quarter mile as quickly as possible (did anybody see the footage of Michael Waltrip trying to run his stocker on the dragstrip?). No way.
For this challenge, The Biff is putting his moderately modded (the blower looks a lot like a Kenne Bell, but he says the engine is stock with only a smaller blower pulley, sticky tires, cold-air system) Shelby GT500 to the test against fellow 'Cup drivers who will also be racing their personal hot rods, at the new zMax Dragway facility in Charlotte, North Carolina!
Although going in circles is Greg's specialty, don't think the driver of "The Number 16" won't be ready. As I mentioned at the top of this report, the guy definitely has been getting his practice in, and we think he might know a little more about drag racing than he wants his competitors to believe!
