GTR Hosts Mustangs and Enthusiasts at It's Annual Show and Dyno Day

Last weekend I attended a really cool car show/dyno day out at GTR High Performance in Rancho Cucamonga, California (www.gtrhipo.com). I'll tell you about it, after the jump...

The Wild Strawberry LX hatchback on the far right really was an eye catcher. The clean Fox is owned by the event's DJ, who had the air filled with the latest hip-hop hits all day!
A row of clean Snakes looks cool at any 'Stang show.
This nitrous-gulping Fox reportedly makes as much as eight hundie at the feet. That's claiming some pretty big steam, but we were unable to verify whether or not it's true.
This undone Foxinator is just one of the cool "work-in-progress" Mustangs that came out to the show.
"Killer Deal" was GTR's Chris Balster's new name in the swap meet area.
This Kenne Bell-blown S197 was done just the right way, and won first place in the car show's S197 category.
There were quite a few '94-'04 Ponies, but this 2003 drop-top Terminator nabbed the trophy for that class.
This super-clean, Vortech-blown '93 Cobra took top honors in the '79-'93 category.

The event, GTR's annual "Customer Appreciation Day," is a convergence of many of SoCal's hard-core Mustang clubs and nearly all of GTR's customer-owned and daily driven Mustangs.

I've been attending the event for the last three years. And although I really enjoy seeing the many 'Stangs that consume GTR's parking lot; meeting loyal 5.0 Mustang and Super Ford readers attending the show is just as much of a pleasure. For those of you who approached me and said hello and told me how much you like reading 5.0, I just want to let you all know that we really appreciate your support of the magazine. No doubt.

It was a really good day.The show Ponies were hot, and Mustangs blazed across the rollers of GTR's Dynojet chassis dyno all afternoon. GTR served us delicious hot dogs for lunch, and gave visitors an opportunity to score killer deals on parts, thanks to the parking-lot swap meet, and nice turnout of vendors as well (Vortech, McLeod, Magnaflow).

"Where's your coupe" was the question I heard most (and I'm very surprised by that, because most times, "How can I get my car in 5.0?" is what most 'Stangbangers want to know).

After attending this deal for three years and never bringing a car to show off, I'm hereby putting it out there that our T-top coupe, supercharged New Edge or maybe even Boss 340 (one of those three Mustangs) will be at GTR for their 2009 event. It's definitely a good time.
