Editor Steve Turner has been on my case about the heavy dose of carbon fiber that's being applied to "Pit Boss," the EZ-GO golf cart that will be our pit-support vehicle when we take Project Boss 340 to the dragstrip.
We all know how much Big Steve appreciates the "CF," and he doen't have any problem whatsoever with the treatment that Raceskinz is applying to the little buggy, as it's just a small example of the larger-scale carbon-fiber wizardry that is yet to come--for Project Boss 340 and Big Steve's Project Vapor Trail, too.
Raceskinz definitely puts it down. But, I recetnly had a chance to check out some bad-ass "CF" from another outfit; Deeds Performance of Chatsworth, California, that's ready for purchase and installation on heavy-hitting, fuel-injected small block Fords. Jump, please...
Josh Deeds has outdone himself with this one; an EFI throttle-body elbow that's completely done in carbon fiber! We saw this piece sitting on a mock-up engine in another race-'Stang-in-progress at A.R.E. Performance and Machine, and just had to set it atop Boss 340's intake manifold to see how it looks.
As the photos show, and I'm sure you'll agree, the Deeds Performance carbon-fiber elbow looks pretty damn good. Of course, a carb-style (4150) intake manifold is required for using this work of art, but a Dominator-flanged piece also is in the works.
Supercharged and turbocharged Mustangs definitely need this deal...for the "Wow Factor" alone. Call Deeds Performance for more information on their carbon-fiber throttle-body elbows and other force-induction/EFI products [(877) SPOOL-UP; www.deedsperformance.com].
