Even though it has been a while since I've given you an online update on the progress of Project Boss 340, don't think (not even for a second) that we've been kicking back and "taking a break" from this effort. No way. Absolutely not.
It's times like now that I dig having this blog forum to use as a way to show-and-tell what all the latest goings-on have been for Boss 340. The updates have been major, and I'll give you a little insight on what's been done, after the jump, of course...
With the project's intro story ("Here We Go Again") now "out" and in the May '09 issue of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords (and its archived copy available here on our Web site), and the second report (front suspension and brakes install) about to appear soon in the magazine, the project is on a really good pace right now, and lead builders Rocco and Tony Acerrio of A.R.E. Performance and Machine are very confident that our project 'Stang will be ready to run this November, at the PSCA's Street Car Super Nationals event in Las Vegas.
As you see in the couple of teaser photos that accompany this blog, Boss 340's Racecraft/Strange Engineering bulletproof, 9-inch rear end, suspension and drag brakes are all in place underneath the 'Stang, and the Probe Industries-built, 343 cubic-inch stroker engine is now sitting between the front fenders!
Yes, we've been up to plenty of good since my last online update. Big hurdles have been conquered, and bigger hurdles lie ahead, but I'm feeling very good about the way things are going thus far. Boss 340 is gonna be one bad hot rod, boys. This update is something for you to think about, while you wait for upcoming issues of the magazine--with my full stories and more details on the project--to arrive in your mailbox each month.
