One of the cool things about living in the San Fernando Valley region of Southern California is that our area is in very close proximity to many of the aftermarket performance companies that produce the parts we love to bolt on our Mustangs.
Of course, Turbochargers are high on the list of favorable bolt-ons that add power to a Pony, and Turbonetics is one of the companies that for all intents and purposes is close enough to my home to be considered practically "in my back yard."
Taking global positioning a step further, the Turbonetics headquarters on Agate Ct in Simi Valley is literally across the driveway from A.R.E. Performance and Machine, the shop where our Project Boss 340 Mustang is being assembled, and across the street from Milodon, makers of street and/or race oil pans for pushrod and modular Fords.
Believe it or not, despite the fact that I'm always seeing the Turbonetics and Milodon buildings whenever I go to work on our project 'Stang at A.R.E., I've never been through the doors of either company's building.
Well, that's probably going to change in a few weeks. Why? I'll tell you why, after the jump...
I recently learned that Turbonetics and Milodon will be hosting a Garage Sale (and Dyno Day at Turbonetics) at their Simi Valley facilities on Saturday May 30th, 2009, and I definitely plan on being there!
According to the folks I've spoken with about this deal, the companies' plan is to give SoCal-area 'Stangbangers and performance nuts an opportunity to come to their facilities and shop for sale-priced forced induction goods such as complete standard-bearing and ceramic-ball-bearing turbochargers, universal intercooler assemblies, and countless other forced induction parts and accessories, as well as oil pans, oil systems and engine parts.
General admission is FREE, but they're also offering advance tickets (see link at the end of this blog) that will give 100 lucky people an opportunity to enter the sale 30 minutes before the general public, and get first crack at all the good stuff.
The wheels on Turbonetics' SuperFlow chassis dyno will also be spinning! Dyno pulls (horsepower tests only, NO tuning) will be available during the entire course of the event, at 3 pulls for $30.00 (paid in advance) or $40.00 onsite. This will probably be pretty popular, so I recommend you sign up early to ensure you'll get a chance to make the dyno runs.
There will be food and drink on sale, too, so a good time definitely should be had by all!
