A Long Wait Is Coming to an End

Boss 340's Big Makeover Begins

TODAY IS THE BIG DAY! Well, it's ONE of the "big days" for the new 'Stang. I'm heading off to Raceskinz in Van Nuys, California, in a few more hours (I can't wait), to drop the Boss 340 Mustang off for some badly needed colorization.

When the mission is complete, it should look a little something like the rendering you'll see after the jump...

Raceskinz artist's rendering of Project Boss 340

Understand that this is an artist's rendering, so in real life the colors (which are primarily "pearls," by the way) will POP and even appear to change when sunlight hits the car at certain angles. And, as a race car, the ride height will be a lot lower, and a Racecraft aluminum wing will be replacing the stock spoiler.

Of course, props have to be given to A.R.E. Performance and Machine in Simi Valley, California, and all of the other aftermarket performance companies that are participating in Project Boss 340, so their logos will be incorporated into the 'Stang's graphics package, with actual colors being used in the white area at the bottom of the body, but the logos in the black paint are being "flipped" by Raceskinz (www.raceskinz.us.com) vinyl lords to appear as the same gray/silver colors ast the stripe, and they will be be "ghosted" into the paint scheme for a "there, but, not there" appearance.

Oh, let me answer one other question I know you'll have. YES, the Weldstar RT wheels will have black centers, as they do in the rendering (thanks for your votes on those wheels, by the way).

Drop a note/add a comment and let me know what you think. I'll be posting updates on the makeover's progress here, and don't forget to check out the upcoming reports on the beautification (with sidebar details on Pit Boss, too) in 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords.
