Raceskinz and A.R.E. Discuss Boss 340 and More

Boy, I really feel sorry for fans of the magazine who don't stop through our Web site on a regular basis. By waiting for each issue to hit their mailboxes or newsstands (and don't get me wrong, I'm really glad that they do subscribe to, or purchase 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords regularly), those Mustang enthusiasts miss out on some of the sneak-peek/preview stuff that I post here in my blog every now and then.

You're wondering what's going on in the photos you're looking at? I'll tell you after the jump...

This new "Outlaw LX" front fascia by Schoneck Composites will set off Boss 340's frontal appearance. Raceskinz has the skills to cut and fit the front, and now that Mike has taken a look, we're confident the finished product will look factory clean.
Mike and Tony check out Racecraft's super-trick Dzus-fastener rails. We'll install the rails before sending Boss 340 down to Raceskinz, where the team there will be fitting the car's Schoneck Composites fiberglass cowl hood.
From left-to-right, Raceskinz's Mike Smith, and Tony Acerrio, Rocco Acerrio and Sean Maciel of A.R.E. Performance and Machine got down to some good-old trash talk about the race at MB2
The boys at A.R.E. Performance and Machine say they "ain't skurr'd" when it comes to throwin' down on the kart track, and look forward to their meeting to settle things with Raceskinz at MB2.
When it comes to racing MB2 go-karts, Team Raceskinz says: "BRING IT!"

What you're seeing in these photos is a meeting of two of Project Boss 340's primary participants right now...The crew at A.R.E. Performance and Machine (Rocco Acerrio, Tony Acerrio and Sean Maciel; www.areperformance.com) who are building our latest Fox-body drag 'Stang, and Mike Smith of Raceskinz (www.raceskinz.com.us), the Van Nuys, California, car customizers who will be taking custody of The Boss very soon, and ridding our '90 LX of its forlorn appearance (something they're really good at doing. Have you seen my blogs of pics and details on the makeover the Raceskinz crew has given our "Pit Boss" golf cart? Oh, my!)

Mike and Raceskinz's Marketing Director and Project Manager, Scotty Centra, traveled out to the shop for an in-person look at Boss 340's current cosmetic state, and our session proved to be very productive, as a plan of action and tentative timetable were discussed and our LX should start receiving some of its new-look treatments fairly soon.

On another note, Mike, Scotty and the A.R.E. guys also took the opportunity to get in a fair amount of "trash talk." Despite everyone working together on Project Boss 340, it appears both organizations have personnel who are avid participants of the popular MB2 indoor go-kart racing. So, a mutual "challenge" has been thrown down, and at some point we'll all be meeting at the go-kart track to hold the first, annual, A.R.E./Raceskinz MB2 Grand Prix.

What's at stake? Well, the all-important bragging rights are at the top of the list, but there will also be a cool trophy (The Carbon Cup) that Raceskinz is going to develop, which will be held at the winner's shop until the next year's event. This is gonna be good!
