I don't have a MySpace, a Facebook, or Twitter, but peep my Tweet (or whatever it's called) for this weekend after the jump...
This weekend I'm heading to Epping, New Hampshire, and more specifically, New England Dragway for UPR Products' Ford Fest. This event was originally a Fun Ford Weekend event, but when that organization folded, leaving New England Ford fans on the outside looking in, UPR stepped up and took over the event themselves. The event goes down August 15th and 16th, and there'll plenty to do and see at the event.
Racing classes include a "run whatcha brung" Outlaw 10.5" shootout, a Street Shootout, and a 2005-up Mustang Shootout, which includes two classes. The Street Shootout is a True Street-style format, and promises to be huge.
This event should be a lot of fun, but I am really excited about the 2005-up Mustang Shootout. This category has two different classes with Pure Pony and Hot Pony. Pure Pony is a naturally aspirated class, while Hot Pony allows a single power adder. Best of all, both classes will be run on a .400 Pro Tree, and both are heads-up classes. These aspects are going to be what differentiates the racers from the wanna-bes.
If showing your Mustang is more your thing, the Ford Fest will have several show classes for all types of Fords, not just Mustangs. However, I'm sure the majority of show cars will be Mustangs - not that there's anything wrong with that.
I've never been to the New England area so it's going to be new to me, but this event has been held at New England Dragway for years with a huge following so I trust it will be a lot of fun. See you guys there.
