It's been a long time since we baked in the heat at the NMRA's first Texas event. Well it looks like they are ready to take on the Lone Star State during a cooler time of year. Check out the official words after the jump...

The NMRA Keystone Automotive Ford Nationals, the #1 all-Ford motorsport show, will invade Texas with the 1st Annual Nitto Tire Lone Star Shootout at Houston Raceway Park the weekend of Nov. 13-15, 2009.  This post-season NMRA event, will feature special Pro Outlaw 10.5 and Super Street Outlaw match racing as well as special NMRA classes that allow for participation from all levels of blue oval performance.

See Texas racer Mike Murillo duel down the quarter mile with the always-dangerous “New Mexico Outlaw” Dwayne James in a shootout of Turbonetics Pro Outlaw 10.5 Mustangs.  Come see local hometown hero “Tricky” Richard Lelsz take on 3-time Super Street Outlaw champion, John “Fire Ball” Urist, in his Nitto-sponsored Mustang notch.  This will be the “battle royal” of power adders with 2000+ hp Mustangs...all on 10.5 tires!  Also check out Harland Sharp’s Street Bandit class, which will feature heads-up NMRA Hot Street and Renegade cars going wheels-up and wild.  There will also be index-style open comp classes as well as a huge Fords vs. The World Bracket Showdown.

Tremec is sponsoring the NMRA’s hugely popular True Street class, which will run on Saturday of the event.  Bring your true street Mustang or Ford out and race with upwards of 100 street cars.  Tremec will invite the Quick 16 racers from True Street to participate in the heads-up Lone Star Shootout class on Sunday for bonus cash and prizes.
