Car shows and cruise-ins (I don't really know exactly what the difference is between a regular cruise and a cruise-in), organized/sanctioned deals thrown by clubs, and totally impromptu gatherings that just seem to "happen," via word-of-mouth or e-mail, are a big part of the fabric that makes up the car scene in Southern California's "San Fernando Valley."
The automotive show-and-tell events aren't relegated to just weekends, either. During the spring, summer and early fall, auto enthusiasts get together in various places on weeknights as well as on Saturdays and Sundays.
The Super Car Sunday events held in a shopping center in just off the 101 Freeway in Calabassas, California (take 101 Freeway north [make left off freeway] or south [make right off freeway] to the Valley Circle exit), is a gathering that is held every week, with the last Sunday of every month being considered "the big one," as it draws a huge turnout of all types of cars, trucks, motorcycles and people.
I recently took in "the big one" with a few friends. We had a great time hanging out, and as you'll see on the other side of the jump, several cool 'Stangs were on display.
I usually just walk around and take in the sights without talking with the owners of the cars (unless I see something that I just have to ask about), so if you see your Pony in any of these photos, post a comment at the end of this blog and let us know which 'Stang is yours!
