PROPS to my friend Greg "The Missile" Montoya!
You might recognize Greg and his clean white Fox, as the duo appeared in 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords a while back, in a 5.0 Heads/Cam/Intake tech story (you'll probably find that story, which features Dart's Iron Eagle cylinder heads, an Anderson Ford Motorsport cam and BBK's SSi intake manifold [which has since been replaced by a Trick Flow intake]).
What are the props for? Find out after the jump!
Greg made it to the final round (and the PAY window) at the PSCA's World Finals on Sunday, earning a runner-up in the Symbolic Auto Body "Street Challenge" class.
With the underdog/slowest car in the class (11.70s to everybody else's 10s...racing on the 255/60-15 street radial tires that are a class requirement--we're talkin' Pep Boys radials, fellas), Greg parlayed a good nitrous tune, a HUGE "that's racing" break in Round 1 (when his competitor's engine shut off at mid-track), and also a ladder bye in the semifinals, to reach the final round.
It's always cool to help good friends and see them do well at the track, when I'm not out there racing. No doubt.
