My Fox LX known as Project Roadkill is back home at our Tampa, FL office. Specifically, it's out in the warehouse with other project cars from various magazines. I'll give you more details after the jump...
Project Roadkill has been at MV Performance the past few years, but Tim Matherly and the guys have been really busy trying to stay afloat in this rough economy. The shop stays busy building customer cars, and race cars, as well. Tim just recently finished his 2010 Mustang for NMRA Real Street competition. As such, Roadkill never really received constant attention. That's about to change.
On my recent trip to Atlanta for this last weekend's NMRA race, I stopped by MV and threw Roadkill up on the company trailer for the haul back home. Using the company dually, we made the trek home this past Monday, and now Roadkill is securely tucked in the warehouse. MV was able to get much of the hard stuff done on the car, but it still has a way to go.
It's Vortech T-Trim'd, MV-built Four-Valve still needs to be tuned, the interior needs work, and the car needs paint. I will be going through the interior myself, and deciding what route to take in that regard. As far as tuning and paint, those are a little outside of my realm of expertise so I will be seeing outside intervention on those aspects of the build.
Roadkill is as we say, operational, it's just not fully-operational. That's what I plan to have taken care of hopefully by the end of the summer. I know, it's going to be a lot of work, but I am super excited to have total control over the rest of the build. I can't wait to get to work on it, and finish her up. I'm sick of KJ and Turner getting all the project car glory, it's time for Roadkill to take the spotlight, and the stoplight.
