"Hey, you guys, there's a 2011 Mustang outside. Did you see it?!"
Upon hearing this news, me and several other 'Stang freaks who happened to be at GTR High Performance on Monday, suspiciously made our way to through the showroom and out to the parking lot.
I honestly didn't think I'd be seeing a Coyote-powered, 2011 Mustang GT in person so soon after reading our in-depth report on Mustang's revolutionary new powerplant. Nope, I figured I wouldn't be close to one of these bad-ass Ponies for several months.
So much for figuring. Somehow, some way, the folks at Falken Tire have already received a brand-new 'Stang (the hot red model in the photo), and they get to tool around in it for the next three weeks (including a road-course thrash session at Willow Springs Raceway)!
No doubt, getting a chance to get "up close" with a 2011 'Stang was the surprise of the year (so far). I didn't get any seat time, unfortunately. But, after getting this close to one so soon, I really think my chance to take a drive in one (or do some sort of tech experiment)
and experience Coyote 5.0 power firsthand can't be too far away.
