I recently took a little field trip out to Paxton Superchargers' headquarters in Channel Islands, California, to take a look at some of the cool stuff that are in the works. I also met with one of the company's chief engineers, to discuss some of the changes we're making with our 1986 T-top coupe LX 'Stang, and to take in a lesson on how to make big, big steam. While I have to hold onto most of the juicy details for a while longer, head across the jump for a hint at what's going on...
If you haven't figured it out yet, we're about to upgrade T-top coupe again, and our sights are set on reaching a really big horsepower mark. It's not that we think the 866 rear-wheel-horsepower our Coupie makes isn't enough, as it definitely is more-than-sufficient for a street/strip 'Stang. We're just going to push the envelope a bit more, with a brand-new, A.R.E. Performance & Machine-built long block, and, if you haven't guessed by now, a pretty significant supercharger upgrade, too. The entire process will be chronicled in future issues of 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords, so I suggest you stay tuned.
