First 2011 Mustang GT In The 11s

A mere nine days after getting their hands on an ’11 Mustang GT, the Fred Cook, Nelson Whitlock, and the crew at Evolution Performance laid claim to the first 11-second 2011 Mustang GT...

Naturally we'll bring you the full details in an upcoming issue of 5.0&SF magazine, but here are the numbers they ran today:

11.98 @ 117MPH with a 1.67 60ft


11.85 @ 117MPH with a 1.64 60ft


11.82 @ 118MPH with a 1.63 60ft

They clicked off these e.t.'s in a 24-minute stretch, so they are indicative of a heat-soaked car in the real world.

This new 5.0 thing sure is off to a great start!

I can't decide if I need to put a Coyote 5.0 in my notchback or just buy a 2011GT. My wife will KILL me if I end up with 3 Mustangs!!

All I know is I NEED A DOHC 5.0!!!

3. It may be the first "stock" 11 second 2011 GT. But it is not a street legal car. The runs were made with an off-road X-pipe. Put the factory, or equivalent, mid-exhaust on it and then run an 11-anything. Then they can legitimately lay claim to the first true street spec 2011 GT to run 11's.

4. They only need about 40HP to match the LS7 Chevy in horsepower! And this is with 2 liters less in displacement!

8. Ok im psyched screw emissions. All the import ricers and other unmentionable drivers were making excuses for the run slicks bottle and my favorite the "cams" ..... finally they put the fear back in their hearts. Hehehe fomoco all da way
