Just when you thought there were no bone-stock, 100 percent virgin, pushrod 5.0s left in existence, our friends at GTR High Performance (www.gtrhipo.com) found this one for us.
Yes, Ricardo Topete found the stock engine...and the '88 Mustang GT that it's sitting in, for us to use in an upcoming tech article.
Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to throw a few suggestions out there for us.
In this day and age of Coyote 5.0 'Stang's, what do you think we should do with an untouched old-school 5.0-Liter Pony?
Have you come up with any ideas? Actually, I'm sure a lot of you probably have a long list.
Our objective for this one is "more power," by giving the GT a proven, good upgrade that doesn't require installing a new engine or completing a full rundown of major drivetrain modifications.
Affordable, bolt-on and basic (for the most part). That's what we're after. Let us know what you think.
And, of course, stay tuned to 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords to see what becomes of this one!
