A quick blog to let you know we "made it" to the 26th Annual Fabulous Fords Forever car show on Sunday.
For the record, we had absolutely no intentions of missing Fab Fords. The reason why I say we "made it" to the show, is because we were able to finish up our '02 Mustang GT's appearance upgrades, in time for us to drive it to Knott's Berry Farm and put the 'Stang on display at 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords' booth at the show.
Yes, while I've been throwing teaser photos in my blogs for the last few days (and as you see from the lead photo in this blog, that hasn't changed. Hah!), the updated 'Stang has now "gone public," and will once again be seen on the boulevards and freeways of SoCal.
Details on the mods, which include parts from MrBodyKit.com, AmericanMuscle.com and Latemodel Restoration.com, are coming up in our August '11 issue.
It was awesome to see, meet, speak with and even take photos with so many great Mustang enthusiasts, and I'm very happy that so many 'Stangbangers were impressed with the changes we made to our GT's appearance--and also follow many of our other project Mustangs so closely (T-top coupe, PVT and Fox 500 were all asked about). We've had the car on display at Fabulous Fords Forever in the past, and it has never received the type of detailed/close attention it got at this year's show (people didn't look too far beyond the engine and supercharger, because the body was basically...stock).
Thanks go to Ford Motor Company for providing us with a booth. We handed out approximately 1,000 copies of 5.0 throughout the day (tremendous thanks go to my wife, Crystal, who helped distribute magazines), and our location next to Ford's new-vehicle display couldn't have been better.
Unfortunately, I personally was unable to get out and "see" all of the awesome 'Stangs at the Fabulous Fords Forever show. My duties at the booth limited my time to walk around and take in the show. But, Tom Wilson, 5.0's Editor-at-Large was on the scene, and I'm sure he got some great photos of all the Ponies that were on display. Look for Tom's report in an upcoming issue!
