You can probably go back through my blogs and see that just about one year to this day (or yesterday), I posted a few notes and photos about our 2002 Mustang GT's Third Place finish (in the '99-'04 Modified class) at the prestigious "Mustangs at the Queen Mary" car show.
Yes, like The US Open or The Masters, etc, the Queen Mary 'Stang gathering is one of Southern California's "majors (Fabulous Fords Forever is the top dog, and Mustangs in the Park out in Simi Valley has been very strong for the last few years)," that's loaded with lots of awesome Mustangs in all classes each year.
My wife, Crystal's, supercharged New Edge was third best last year. However, in 2011, "Black Beauty" was awarded First Place in the Queen Mary show's '99-'04 Modified category!
Once again, the class was loaded with several awesome New Edge 'Stangs, but the cosmetic improvements (featuring a hood, spoiler and side scoops upgrade from www.mrbodykit.com) that were made by Ford Auto Body (www.fordautobody.com), definitely made all the difference in our finishing higher at this year's show.
Our coverage on the project Pony's body/paint upgrade is in the Tech archive right here on our site. If you didn't read the story in the magazine, please find it online and see the changes that helped Crystal's 'Stang take top honors in its class, at one of the Los Angeles area's most-significant Mustang shows.
