Where's Rosetta Stone when You Need Her?

"7.46/193...on 275s with a 123 at 3,400?! That's INSANE!"

Have you ever been a part of a discussion among 'Stangbangers (as a participant, or merely a casual listener) that sounds somewhat similar to this?

It's amazing how hard-core cats all are able to speak--and moreso understand--jargon that's derived primarily from numbers and/or letters that are intermingled with standard English words, and which actually is more like a completely different language.

We typically hear the dialect being spoken in 'Stang or race shops, at the dragstrip, and also in "written" form, on enthusiasts' message boards that are all over the Internet.

"I thought 88s would be enough, but we only saw just over a G with that setup. We switched to a 114 and that made a big difference."

No, I'm not going to decipher either of the example statements. For those of you who truly don't know what they could possibly mean, consider this a challenge to try and figure it out.

Those of us who are deep into this scene like me, Big Steve and MJ are? I'm sure y'all know plenty well what each one means.

It's pretty cool how our hobby has sort of developed it's own language. I want all of you to work at becoming fluent "speakers," too!

Well, it's time for me to go and mess with a "SBF with a 353 and a 2K" now.

Have a fine Mustang day, peeps!
