It's hard to believe how quickly the year has rolled by. I'm writing this blog post on November 9th, and with the holiday music playing in Starbuck's, and lots that were full of pumpkins two weeks ago, now holding Christmas trees of all sizes, it really does "feel" like we're officially at that point where 2011 is pretty much "over."

Of course, said holidays really are the markers for a year's closure, and Thanksgiving is the celebration that kicks everything off. Most of us always say we have a lot to be thankful for. Included among those things like family and health, are our Mustangs, and places like the drag strip at Toyota Speedway in Irwindale, California.

The folks are the track are teamed up with Cory's Kitchen this year, to try and make "the holidays" nice for people who aren't as fortunate as others. I received info about a cool food-donation program they've developed, and hope that those of you in SoCal can help this cause...especially if you race your 'Stang at The 'Dale on Thursday nights.

Toyota Speedway, the NASCAR race track (and drag strip) located on Live Oak at the 605 Freeway in Irwindale, California, is joining many other Irwindale Chamber of Commerce members in accepting food donations for "Cory's Kitchen" a local non-profit that solicits and distributes a wide variety of much-needed food items to some 300 local in-need families.

Food items may be dropped off right at the Speedway office: 500 Speedway Drive, Monday-Friday 10AM - 4PM (626) 358-1100

"We're here every day, we're easy to find, and easy to roll into to drop items off," says Speedway VP/GM, Bob DeFazio. "Our racers and fans are some of the best, most giving people around."
