The Carlisle Ford Nationals presented by Gumout Performance Products, June 1-3 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds offers many features which attendees young and old can enjoy. Perhaps you come to America’s Automotive Hometown to enjoy the more than 2,400 Ford, Lincoln, Mercury and Euro Ford show cars on the National Parts Depot Showfield or you’re here to browse the swap meet, Manufacturers Midway or car corral. No matter, everyone goes home with something, be it a memory or piece of automotive merchandise. In 2012, one lucky person will go home with more than that; they’ll win a FREE engine.
The Carlisle Ford Nationals and Ford Racing Performance Parts are teaming up to award one person a brand new X-427 Windsor Street Crate Engine. This year, the perfect compliment to any ride is up for grabs. The X-427, designed for street use, has joined the Ford Racing Z427 that was introduced in 2010. In addition, the engine is fitted with the legendary Ford Racing X-Heads and delivers 520 foot-pounds of torque. Built on Ford Racing's new BOSS 351 block, this new crate engine is engineered and built to deliver a strong, flat torque curve. The engine is also designed to provide tire-smoking acceleration for street rods, kit cars, muscle cars and provides plenty of power and torque for light-duty pickups and SUV's. The X-427 giveaway engine is a natural with the Lightweight/427/406 Reunion being held at the 2012 Ford Nationals.
Jesse Kershaw, Drag Racing Parts and Competition manager has this to offer, “the new X-427 Windsor Street Crate Engine is designed to be a cost effective option with big power and big torque that still fits under the hood. The X-heads are perfect with a dual plane intake manifold which allows our customer to preserve their stock hood in most cases, ideal for those customers looking to step up the engine while maintaining their vehicles original design. And having the iconic 427cid makes it a popular choice for many of our resto-mod customers.”
The giveaway engine will be on display throughout the weekend at the Ford Racing Performance Parts display on the Manufacturers Midway. Be sure to check it out. Registration for the giveaway will take place online via http://www.CarlisleEvents.com/Giveaways and on site via the registration kiosks in the new Guest Services building, located to the west of the grandstand. Attendance is not required to be eligible to win the engine and the winner need not be present on the day of the giveaway to claim his or her prize.
A perfect complement to the giveaway and cars on site are family activities, such as Kids at Carlisle and the Women’s Oasis. Further, the weekend offers a burnout competition, beauty contest, drag racing at Quarter Aces Drag-O-Way, a downtown parade, industry guests and so much more. With the Blue Oval as far as the eye can see, the 2012 Ford Nationals will be an elite Ford-branded event that is a must attend for men, women and children of all ages.
