Every once in a while we get to sample the other vehicles Ford produces. Yeah, I know, why would we want to do that? That's because Ford's making really good cars these days. Of course, we didn't have to tell you that. Check out my thoughts on the '13 Taurus SHO after the jump...
First off, the '13 SHO is a big car. Like many of you, I'm used to the dimensions of a Mustang so driving the SHO takes some getting used to. The car's sheer exterior size smacks you in the face right off the bat. It's almost cumbersome, but once inside the car, it doesn't feel that big. However, you still have to really be aware of your surroundings when driving the SHO.
The interior features an almost theater-type seating arrangement, but the seats are mega-adjustable so finding a comfortable seating position is pretty easy. Plus, the seats have a memory function so once you find the sweet spot you can save it. The audio system has more features than I was able to thumb through in my short time with the car, but the stereo system itself left nothing to be desired.
Of course, the part we couldn't wait to wring out was the SHO's EcoBoost 3.5L twin-turbo V6. Even for its size and weight, the SHO doesn't disappoint. Times are reported in the high-13s, and that definitely seems within the realm of possibility. In the show, if you were to get out on someone, they would be hard-pressed to overtake you.
All in all, the '13 SHO is an impressive car. Would we want a SHO instead of a '13 GT? C'mon son, let's not get carried away. However, for a family car that's capable of high-13s right out of the box. We could definitely handle that.
