With the release of the 2012 Ford Boss 302 Mustang, Ford commissioned Donald Farr, editor of Mustang Monthly and author of Mustang Boss 302: Ford's Trans-Am Ponycar, to document the Boss legend.

The book, Mustang Boss 302 - From Racing Legend to Modern Muscle Car, now available from bookstores everywhere includes updated information from the previous book. It also documents the build and specifications of '12 version and the Laguna Seca edition.

The Boss 302 was originally built to homologate the parts Ford used trans-am racing. Released in 1969, the Boss featured a tunnel-port 302 block with Cleveland four-barrel heads. The design of the heads allowed the use of larger valves, which helped the engine put out 290 hp and 290 lb.ft. of torque.

The books contains the original version written by Donald in the early 80s. Much of that information has been updated as Donald had access to some data he didn't before. As well, another thirty years of research improves the accuracy and breadth of information.

Donald was also able to use photographs from several sources for the book, which being the Boss to life in ways you might not have seen before. The pictures also include photos from John Moore and John Clor who had access to the testing and assembly of the 2012 versions of the famed car.

This book makes a great read and is nearly mandatory for Boss owners and Mustang fans alike!
