Sometimes, scoring a new 'Stang is all about being in the proverbial "right place, at the right time."
I'm a regular at the Long Beach High Performance Swap meet; the parts/car exchange held on the second Sunday of every month (sometimes there's a bonus/second event in a month) at Veteran's Memorial Stadium.
On Sunday, I attended November's "bonus" meet, and was stopped in my tracks while walking through the Car Corral. Want to know what could stop me in my tracks...and leave me frantically trying to find a piece of paper and a pen to write the note you see here?

Feast your eyes, 'Stang Nation. Yep, while checking out the cars in the swap meet's Car Corral (the "vehicles for sale" section), my jaw literally dropped when I walked up on this 1985 T-top LX coupe!
This notchback 'Stang is as legit as the '86 that you all know as "Project T-top Coupe," with a factory 5.0 (carbureted)/5-speed drivetrain package, and despite a paint makeover, it's about as stock-as-a-rock as they get.
As you can imagine, my heart was JUMPING at the thought of possibly having two trunk Ponies with T-tops, so I got a "please call me" note together and went to place it on the Mustang's windshield.
When I returned to the coupe, its owner was standing by the car and he was very cool about showing me the engine and answering my questions. I gave him the note that I had written, and told him that once he's ready to definitely sell (apparently, the 'Stang was being displayed on "feeler"/see if there's interest status), contact ME first.
Figured I'd share the latest in the world of T-top coupes. I guess it's one of those things; of all people to come across another one, it figures I'd be that person.
